Mark Chavez is an attorney at Matthews & Associates Law Firm, where he concentrates his practice on products liability litigation, particularly cases involving medical devices, dangerous drugs, and IVC filters. Since joining the firm in 2012, he has played key roles in major product liability and personal injury cases nationwide.

Mark began his legal career working with a plaintiffs’ firm founded by two former insurance defense attorneys. This early experience provided valuable insight into defense strategies, giving him a distinct advantage when representing individuals harmed by negligence or defective products.
At Matthews & Associates, Mark has been deeply involved in the firm’s toxic torts and IVC filter litigation. He played a leadership role on eDiscovery teams handling internal documents from major pharmaceutical and medical device companies, and he helped manage the firm’s GM Recall product liability cases, securing significant settlements for victims and their families.
Mark was instrumental in helping the firm obtain the first state court verdict against Cook Medical in a case involving a defective Celect IVC filter. He has also contributed to several bellwether trials in both the Cook and Bard multidistrict litigations.
Mark earned dual B.A. and B.S. degrees in Business Administration and Psychology from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas, and his J.D. from South Texas College of Law in Houston.
