Elizabeth A. Favaro

Liza is a shareholder in the Troy office of Giarmarco, Mullins & Horton. A dynamic trial attorney, Liza defends corporations in a variety of matters, with more than half of her time spent on product liability cases.  Liza works with several consumer product manufacturing companies on discovery strategies, safety messaging, and sales documentation. Liza offers training to her clients’ engineers, customer service representatives, and marketing departments on ways they can help reduce product liability exposure.  Liza also has experience in automotive and medical device cases.

Liza serves as lead trial counsel for several different product lines for a publicly traded consumer products company, and she also provides strategic support for litigation matters nationwide.  With nearly 20 years of courtroom experience, Liza has managed and tried litigation matters across the State of Michigan and the country, including in state and federal trial and appellate courts and arbitration proceedings.  In April of 2023, Liza obtained a defense verdict in a product liability case in a tough jurisdiction – Broward County, Florida.

In addition to product liability matters, Liza also handles employment counseling and litigation, commercial litigation, and personal injury defense.

Before becoming an attorney, Liza was an investigative reporter and news anchor and received an Emmy Award for her outstanding work.
